is recommended that beginning students start with drawings of relatively simple forms. Then progress with increasingly challenging subject matter, in preparation for portraiture, figurative works, landscapes, or works from the imagination.
Intermediate and advanced students have the option to either delve into paintings referencing live draped or undraped models or a mirror, for single figure or multi-figurative paintings. Or using photos of landscapes, pets, family, friends etc., as reference. Or perhaps works from the imagination, where the light, also from the imagination, is perceived as being from a certain fixed direction throughout.

Both new and experienced painters are invited to register for “Painting with Acrylics” to either learn to paint with acrylics or to expand their skills. Classes will be grounded in the principles and elements of art and composition and the process of completing a painting from initial sketches, drawings, and studies to finished product. All of these topics will allow students to create more effective art regardless of what kind of art students wish to create. Students have the option of choosing their own reference materials and are supported in developing their own unique artistic style.
